The most common cause of episodic diarrhea is dietary indiscretion and does usually take a few days to correct itself.

Occasional diarrhea can have other causes, when we see this at the shelter we use a paste called “Fast GI” which helps to reestablish the normal bowel flora and stop the diarrhea. This product or one like it should be available through your veterinarian. You can restrict exposure to the floral arrangements and see if the problem reoccurs. If so, watch carefully what other things she is eating that she shouldn’t be! A good regular feeding program goes a long way to prevent bowel problems.

If the problem persists beyond three days or becomes frequent a thorough exam, radiographs, and lab work are definitely warranted.
