For the second time in her 16 years. The doctors gave her antibiotics both times. Is there something I can do to prevent her from having to go through this again?

Abscesses associated with the anus are often related to infected anal sacs, a residual scent gland next to the anus. Regular emptying of these sacs by your veterinarian can prevent them from becoming infected. Ask your veterinarian if this may help your kitty.
