2 year old corgi has hard time getting up

Hello, My 2 year old corgi pluto really struggles to stand up after laying down and seems to avoid going up on our pet stairs to get on the bed and once in a while I will hear a clicking when he walks. We have scheduled some x rays for his hips but it will be another 2 weeks before he can go in. This has been an ongoing issue that has recently seemed to get worse and While researching it sounded like hip displasia to me. Do you know what can be done besides a total hip replacement if he does have hip displasia? Does this sound like hip displasia to you? Thank you,

This may be hip dysplasia, stifle dysplasia, or a bad back. There are treatments for all of these conditions. Total hip replacement may not be required. A femoral head osteotomy is an option for hip dysplasia. Medications may alleviate discomfort but on going degeneration would still occur. An exam and radiographs are definitely the first step. Then get all of your options prior to making a decision on surgery.
