My chihuhua, who is otherwise happy, healthy and active, has developed a distinct lightening and spotting on her normally dark brown coat. Why?

Look at nutritional and possible hormonal problems. Have your veterinarian scan for thyroid, adrenal, and pancreatic diseases. Good nutrition is important to the skin and hair. We use a food free of gluten and with a unique carbohydrate and protein source. The use of hemp oil as a supplement helps hair nutrition. This can be a sequel of age, but generally due to hormones or nutrition.
