Hello, I would like to know why 4 week year old kitten with stop eating. We rescue them. Their mama had left them I haven’t seen her for two weeks now. One of them has lost an ounce and is lethargic and is refusing to eat. He looks like he’s getting weaker. Don’t know what to do for him if you have any suggestions they’re deeply appreciated. Sincerely jen

At the Sanctuary when caring for an abandoned litter we will weigh the kittens daily and at the first sign of not gaining weight we will begin tube feeding. This is something easily taught by your regular veterinarian or a knowledgeable technician at your vet's office. In addition to tube feeding we will usually also give sterile electrolyte fluids under the skin to combat dehydration. B vitamins are also given by injection. At this fragile stage quick action is required. Seek assistance as required from your regular veterinarian.
