Is Prostrate Cancer Positively Fatal?

My 9 year old German Shepherd was just diagnosed with prostate cancer. The prognosis is months to one year and fatal and at this time with science – no cure. The type of prostate cancer is transitional. I just want to be sure it is definitely fatal. It breaks my heart….

Unfortunately, the time frame you describe is accurate for the diagnosis of transitional cell carcinoma of the prostate. I urge you to contact an oncologist to discuss treatment options. At the Sanctuary we use chemotherapy with some success. The treatment does not cure the cancer but can be palliative in nature and extend the time of quality life.
