male Jack Russell with blood in urination

My 3 year old neutered male Jack Russell has just urinated in the garden and I noticed there appeared to be a little blood in it. He is behaving normally and doesn’t appear to be ill what do you recommend?

This dog needs to be checked for a urinary tract infection and for the presence of bladder stones.

Have your veterinarian do a urinalysis with a culture and sensitivity and get some x-rays of the bladder. At this age it would be rare to have a more serious problem, however; if these tests are not diagnostic blood tests and screening for a bladder tumor would be indicated.
