He takes 2.5mg SID. Is it safe to vaccinate him
Fiona is a 1-year old collie mix. She is aggressive to people and other dogs and she is becoming aggressive to family members. We have tried everything we can afford. We tried with a trainer and now a behaviorist. Unfortunately we don't have the resources needed to keep her with a behaviorist as it takes $235/hour + boot camps for a long period of time. We love her and don't want to put her down. We want her to be safe. Please advise.
I found a stray a few months ago and soon after she started losing her fur and now she is mostly bald with flaky skin that oozes something and has fowl odor ( I say like wet soggy old potatoes, like for hash browns, but my family says it's way more disgusting) and she has a overly healthy appetite and drinks loads of water but she remains super skinny and looks emaciated. I took her to the vet but I couldn't afford the blood tests that might have diagnosed what was wrong with her. They prescribed pills; prednisone, cephalexin and a shampoo; ketohex. I couldn't afford them all ado the vet gave me what he felt would suffice. The treatment worked at first and I even bought more of the same shampoo online. but now she looks like it's returning. Do you have any suggestions on anything I can do to get her healthy again? I'm out of options and can't afford another trip to the vet I'm disabled and rely on ssi to get by.
I have 2 small dogs and 1 large dog are you a no kill shelter, and how long would they stay if not adopted
I have a senior chihuahua who is in the end-stages of CHF and is taking vetmedin, Enalapril, Lasix and hydrocodone. I would like to cut back on the hydrocodone and try CBD to see if I can give him some comfort. Are there any drug interactions, specifically with the vetmedin since it’s a calcium blocker?
Had to vet has been on antibiotics and now lasix. Doesn't want to drank as much as usual .Acts like has problem with male parts. Fear may be slightly blockage or prostate trouble? Sometimes can't pee for short while needs instegated sometimes like baby.
My wife and I recently lost our cat to what we believe was a heart attack. To have a cat live with us for 8 years, then suddenly die without warning or symptom has been devastating. We want to get another kitten but are concerned the same thing might happen. From what I've read, it seems like it's unavoidable and if your cat is predisposed to have the disease, there's nothing that can be done. Is this the case? Any idea why this disease is so prevalent among cats?
He has heart murmurs and it's a category 3 so he's taking Pimobendan and I want to give him CBD oil but I'm not sure if they will work against eachother.
I put gulls and made a rap around his neck he is a deibetic and he’s blind chi is 12 years old still eating. Just don’t no what to do for him
My dog was anemic for months and it was determined that she wasn’t producing red blood cells. IBD was apparently the cause and she was prescribed Prednisone and Cyclosporine.
Possible kitty herpes. My Maine Coon has ongoing sinus infection with snoring, nasal discharge, lethargy.
She’s a female American Rottweiler that’s about 8 years old. I feel like I want to do something to save her but at the same time don’t want her to suffer.
Do you rescue turtles?
Rescued female chihuahua age 4-5, weighs 3 pounds and have had her for 3 years. Vet recommends having her spayed as a way to protect her in the future relative to other diseases. Please share your opinion also.
How do/can you keep track of all your animals for needed flea control, rabies, distemper, etc medications? Do you microchip them? My little Merlon Cocker Spaniel (10 years old) had skin cancer and it spread so quickly we had to euthanize him (July 2018) before it spread to his bones, which would have really caused him a lot of needless pain. What do you do in that sort of situation? Do you administer expensive chemotherapy with no assurance of any amelioration of it's condition, or do you euthanize it, knowing a cure is hopeless?
Advanced Tcc cancer - any alternative therapy that would be useful. Thank you

Do you take surrendered animals?
Hi, Recently my cat who is about one year old had her second liter of kittens. They are coming on three weeks old. Yesterday, my cat was looking sick and her meow was crackly. Someone let her outside yesterday morning, and she hasn’t come back which is unusual considering the fact that she has 5 kittens here and whenever she goes outside is back within 1-2 hours. We have a littler cat who is a couple months old and who happens to be a kitten from her first liter. She got sick first, and was acting the same way her mom is acting now. I was just wondering if it was normal for a mom cat to leave her babies when she’s sick? And will she come back?
I've had multiple small dogs diagnosed with a heart murmur. Some have been given medication, some have not, but none seem to be actually affected by it. What is it, really, and is medication required always, sometimes, never?
I am very concern. Was refer to a specialist.

One of my renter's cats, Blossom, tested positive for FeLV on a SNAP test at our Humane Society. She has 12 cats with exposure and I have 14. I had my vet send out the IFA test on Blossom and that came back negative. I also had 3 of my cats tested with the ELISA SNAP test and they were all negative. So here are my questions:
1. I know Blossom needs to be rechecked with both ELISA and IFA tests, but how many weeks from the first tests? Some articles say 1 month, some say 6 weeks, and another says 2 months. And the IFA test was done a week after the ELISA test. Is the retesting done the number of weeks after the ELISA or the IFA test date?
2. If I purchase the IDEXX SNAP tests online, will that negate any FeLV vaccine manufacturer's warranty, since I am not a licensed veterinarian purchasing the test kits? I am now wanting to follow the manufacturer's protocol of performing the test and giving the vaccines 3 weeks apart to receive their warranty in case any of my cats do still get FeLV even with the vaccine since the vaccines for FeLV are only perhaps 75% effective, so the manufacturer will pay the vet bills. I also want to get their warranty that if their vaccine causes FISS in the FeLV leg, they will pay any vet bills (I did have one cat get FISS in the rabies leg but didn't use the Purevax for life since the cat was older so had the old shots earlier in life which negated the warranty and that surgery cost me big bucks at UPenn but it has been a year without reoccurrence).
3. Do you know which manufacturer's FeLV vaccine has the highest percentage of cats which don't get infected after receiving the vaccine? I did read about one Zoetis one called Versifel, used in Europe, which was in the 90% range, but can't find that one used in the US.

I've read yearly shots aren't necessary or good.
the vet showed me an xray of my maltese shi tzu male who is 9 yrs old and the heart reaches from the top of the backbone down to the chest bone, is this enlarged? the vet gave me medication: "vetmedin chews"1.25 mgs - how big is a normal heart for a 9 yr old male maltese shi tzu and is the medication correct?
We are a family run restaurant in Florida--Recently one of our very good customers passed away, and we asked if we could make a donation to her favorite charity--We were told that DELTA was one of her favorites. We would like to know how to make a donation in her name.
About 2 to 3 weeks ago I took in a stray that was abandoned at one of my jobs. I took her to the vet. Just for a routine checkup and he determined that she had feline herpes as well as a small upper respiratory infection. He prescribed her an antibiotic and a pink medicine that was supposed to coat her throat. I mention to the doctor that she was unable to meow and that whenever she opened her mouth no sound came out and he explained that it could be a cause of the long-term feline herpes that she had and he was unsure how far down in her intestines the herpes have gone. Well, after finishing her medicines she is on the same diet since the day I brought her home and she still has constant diarrhea. Though she acts like she is feeling fine. I'm very curious on what could be causing this and if I should bring her into the vet and use my time and money on a physical exam or if I should just bring a stool sample into my vet and have them examine that just to cut straight to the chase. I appreciate your time and advise and I thank you for what you do with all of these animals may God bless you and all of those around you.
I took in a stray 5 years ago. I think she's 8-10 years old. She developed canine mammary tumors & I started her on Hemp Oil 3 weeks ago, as I can't afford surgery to remove tumor. She has lost her vision so I've cut back on giving her the Hemp. I now rub it on tumor. I was told diatomaceous earth could help her immune system so I let her lick a small amount & her demeanor changed to happy. This weekend there's a Rabies Clinic. Should I get her a rabies vaccine? She is outdoors. Sometimes raccoons or cats get into yard. Please help.
My pitt had two incisions to get neuter one Ball didn't drop.we took the cone off after 7 days, all looked well until today, april 4,9 days after surgery and he's really swollen, not much redness just swelling. his vet is closed and after hours said warm compress. I'm worried. What should I do?
We have discovered the disease pretty late, but we already changed the food and I'm giving him fluids subcutaneously. He almost doesn't eat anything, constipated, lost a lot of his weight, does not respond to appetite stimulant. Regular vets say "it's the end of the road", but I wonder how do YOU, in DELTA, treat cats in these conditions. Do you just watch them go? Dying from hunger? You're my last hope for any advice from people who CARE!
My four year old cat has developed a food allergy. He has been to the vet who practices homeopathic medicine. She told me to stop giving him chicken and dosed him with rus tox 1M. He improved within 24 hours. I fear he is also now allergic to fish (canned) which comprises a large part of his diet because it has flared up again. He was feral till he was 4 months old and still won't let me hold him. Even getting him to the vet is torture. My cats eat only wet, no dry food. My vet is no longer available and choices of vets are limited in my area. I had more of the rus tox but can't get him to sit still to dose him. Have no one to help. I need three hands. What can I do? Any suggestions would be welcome.
