Shakes head, scratching ears, seems to not hear well. Ear mites?

Saw vet a few months ago to check out ears. Saw brown debris in outer ear. Vet found no mites. Flushed out her ears. She is 8 years old. Younger cat started shaking his head but don’t see debris, hasn’t seen a vet yet because he seems better. Older cat started scratching at ears again and has a lot of debris.

Certainly could be mites. Both cats need to be examined at the same time and treated concurrently to prevent going back and forth. Sometimes, even if I do not see mites, I will use the product Milbemite to be certain to eliminate mites. It is then important to clear all the debris and treat any secondary infection. At the Sanctuary we use Momentamax daily for 10 to 14 days for this.
