We spay and neuter all of our residents at the Sanctuary. There are definite benefits to their health, in addition to the obvious of population control. In female dogs it reduces the risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer is impossible in spayed females, as is the condition called pyometra. The life span of spayed females is increased.
